Now then, the GPZ series tank mounting is extremely troublesome.
Two M6 bolts stick up from the frame side,
and you place a plate over them and tighten with nuts—it’s a really crappy design.
Removal and installation are also very annoying, and it’s my number one most hated mounting method.
I wondered if there was any way to fix this,
and I solved it by browsing through Nabeya Veylix and Monotaro.

There are other nice Nabeya knobs,
but the outer diameter and height are extremely important. For this project, I chose one that’s easy to obtain.

I think it’s better to be able to remove and install exterior parts safely and easily.
You probably won’t remove the fuel tank very often while out and about, but even then it’s a breeze.
I especially recommend this for people who frequently adjust their carburetors.
The contact with the seat felt a bit tight, so I machined it down on the lathe.
Since it’s plastic, you can machine anything.
I recommend removing the fuel tank and checking visually.
If the contact is too tight, there’s a possibility the base bolts could bend, so make sure to check.
