PMC-made VM29 Carburetor “Easy Throttle Spring” is Absolutely Excellent

It became lighter than I expected (*´ω｀*)I’m a bit surprised. There’s a slight impression that the return is slower, but it’s not uncomfortable. It rides very smoothly.
To really feel this“Easy Throttle Spring,”it’s important that the basic parts operate smoothly. ①Check if the carburetor spring moves up and down smoothly when removed ②Check if the throttle cable operates smoothly when removed from the carburetor If these two points are already heavy, changing the spring won’t make a difference. When everything moves smoothly, this low-rate spring becomes useful.
It becomes very easy to ride, so if you have a stock carburetor, give it a try.
Since it has an air cleaner box, it takes a bit of time
The Z1R has soft rubber on the air cleaner box side joint, so the carburetor is easy to remove and install. There’s plenty of space, so the work went surprisingly smoothly.
That said, I removed it four times and took it for four test rides today, so I’m a bit tired.
The intake manifold that was originally installed looks to be in good condition. During a test ride the other day, the vacuum cap happened to fall off at my feet.
I thought that couldn’t happen, but when I tried to push the cap back in, it wouldn’t fit. Looking more closely, I realized the pipe itself had moved. I wonder what manufacturer it is? It wasn’t PMC.
Just when I thought I was done, it overflows just a little?
I swapped out the jets and was getting ready for a test ride when it leaked with a “splash” for just a moment. At first I thought it was clogged with debris, so I added a filter, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
The carburetor itself is old and probably loose in various places. The relationship between the float, float valve, and valve seat gets out of sync and causes this. After rechecking and reassembling, it stopped. Classic bike quirks, right? (*´ω｀*)
I rode and rode and rode until I ran out of gas ( ﾟДﾟ)
Basically mostly stock, but I think it’s a Z1R that runs very snappy and responsive. The thin 18-inch tires front and rear really give you that feeling of riding a motorcycle, and it’s the best.
While I was test riding, a Harley pulled up next to me at a red light. “I hope they don’t say anything to me…”It turned out to be a customer ( ﾟДﾟ) What a coincidence…I was quite surprised.
Anyway, I’ve set it up to a point where there aren’t many issues even if I hand it over, so next I just need to add an ETC and an oil temperature gauge, and it should be complete.
I removed the side cover because I don’t want to drop it. Surprisingly, that look is nice too. The seat bag attached to the seat is a Daytona. I basically keep it on during test rides. Inside I have tools, a fire extinguisher, and rags so I can handle anything that might happen at my destination.
Since it’s rural, if I ever break down, I don’t think even JAF would come quickly. So I’m basically prepared to be able to get back home somehow if something happens out there.
