It’s been five months already since we moved at the end of May this year. I’ve become a Chiba resident in the blink of an eye (*´ω｀*)
Now that our living environment has changed so dramatically, I find myself thinking daily about how to make it more comfortable. This lovely folding door is 3 meters high. During the day it’s really nice, butat night light leaks out and we get a swarm of winged insects.
I even bought an electric bug zapper and fought the good fight, but… I was just attracting more insects instead. The best solution is not to let light leak out in the first place. Security&heat blocking & insulation & insect prevention—a quadruple effect?
I’m thinking through and improving countermeasures every day.

How to simply hide 4 meters wide by 3 meters high?
A 4-meter-wide roll screen doesn’t exist as a stock item. Since it’s basically a consumable, I didn’t want to spend too much, but I also didn’t want to compromise on quality or convenience.
After running various calculations“2 meters wide × 3 meters high”×2 seemed most practical. It was good to get that far, but“I couldn’t find a 3-meter-high product” Even with AI advancing this much, you still need to Google? It’s a skill we still need.
What I finally found wasTachikawa Blind Cieron This search time really felt like a waste… Things should be even more convenient in a few years.
Curtain systems get pricey if they’re not stock items… My log house doesn’t have a single stock item either, so it’s all semi-custom curtains… A never-ending money drain, I tell you.
Anyway, setting that aside. Tachikawa Blind is really excellent (compared to Amazon-ordered items) I should have bought this from the start…
The material quality and the smooth rolling action are really impressive.
At night it’s so dark you can’t see your hand in front of your face. Light still leaks a bit here, but I’d say we’re at 90% blockage. This should handle the nighttime insect problem quite well. Security&heat blocking & insulation & insect prevention—a quadruple effect?No doubt about it.
