Yes, yes, the dry season when our skin gets all flaky and rough is upon us.
Oil stoves and gas stoves have the risk of fire so basically I don’t use them in my shop. So basically I have no choice but to use air conditioning but it gets so dry. If I don’t use a humidifier, by the way the humidity drops below 40% .
My lips and skin get all flaky and even my eyes start to hurt.
So in recent years, I’ve become a rental person for seasonal appliances. Seasonal appliances really are only used for a short period. *Mostly just stored away. Plus humidifiers have significant wear on consumables like filters and the unit itself. If you use a smart trick you can rent a brand new one every year so I really recommend it.
There’s a rental site called “Rentio”. I’ve rented humidifiers, robot vacuums, projectors, GoPro cameras and more. Making smart use of rental options is the best way to do things these days, I think.
What’s annoying about humidifiers is “refilling water” and “cleaning the tray” most of all, I think. Being freed from this stress all at once is truly wonderful.
The water tank just pulls out.
You just grab the handle and pull hard. On the opposite side there’s a large cap for refilling, so you just loosen it, add water, and insert it back.
When the refill cap is large “water is easier to add,” “the inside of the tank is easier to clean,” and “screwing the cap on is simple.”
The maintenance of the water collection tray is also excellent
After removing the tank, you can pull out the tray.
Basically it’s not fixed with complex locking mechanisms it’s designed with excellent maintainability where you just pull and remove.
The idea of that transparent tray on the right in the image above is brilliant. Water accumulates here so the tray itself inevitably gets moldy and dirty. The fact that this is removable and can be replaced as a consumable is very convenient. After all, you want to humidify with clean water.
The flat handle is also very convenient. Being able to pick it up with one hand is really helpful.
As for operation, it’s also very simple so I don’t think you’ll have any trouble.
There’s really only one choice for humidifiers: Dainichi Plus (*´ω｀*)
In the past I was somewhat brand-conscious and bought various ones from Panasonic, Daikin, and Balmuda. After trying various brands, Dainichi Plus humidifiers seem to be the strongest. Daily maintenance really does make a difference.
After all, during winter you use it almost every day so after about 2 years the whole thing gets really dirty. In the past there was no rental system like this so you had to buy but honestly, these days it’s so convenient. It’s a bit pricey but being able to rent the latest new model every year is just the best.
