The head cover paint job
has come back finished.

red (rossa) head (testa) in Italian and
comes from the fact that the engine’s cam cover is red.

The lock nut has plenty of thread locker
and won’t come off easily.
An impact gun is impossible! That’s the kind of thing.

The thread locker is extremely aggressive.
The shaft had no rust
and was in excellent condition.
We’re replacing it with a BITO R &D shaft.

Using a bearing puller is
very efficient
The manual specifies
a “sliding hammer”
but
it’s very “inefficient”

A swing arm alone
is difficult to hold securely
You need two people or to hold it with your feet
It’s pretty rough

If you modify and use a cheap puller like this
it works well.
If the needle roller goes deep enough
and spreads, you can use it.
However
you need to machine it somewhat
on a lathe.
If you use this puller
and tap from the other side
it comes right out.
No leftover needle roller on the outer edge
at all.
Try it as a reference.

This frame has no width adjustment so we’ll do it with shims.
Loose play = large frame stress
Tight fit = small frame stress
The pivot shaft
is tightened firmly
so this adjustment is subtly important.
Even when tightened firmly
the frame surprisingly doesn’t shrink much
In other words, it’s left
moving with left-right play
Frame stress and the possibility of
being hit from the inside.
As for how surprisingly effective it is… well, so-so
