I installed a smartphone holder, but there are so many options I don’t know which to choose.
I just went ahead and ordered a cheap one.
That’s not a mistake.

There really are so many choices it’s hard to decide.

And then when you narrow it down to a 1-inch ball mount, that’s just the beginning…
There’s an endless battle here.

Recommended for naked bikes
The RAM Mount Mirror Frame Base claims to be 9MM
But the actual measurement is 10.1MM, so the mirror passes through as-is (*´ω｀*)WAO~

I can almost 100% recommend this for naked bikes.

When it says 9MM, you think “huh?”
But it opens up to 10.1, so you can pass the mirror through almost as-is.

Sometimes it’s a bit hard to insert due to burrs, but it works fine with just a light rub.
I really think you should go ahead and purchase it.

There’s the issue of the mirror holder’s bulk,
but there’s no fixed orientation for up or down.

If you point the ball downward, you can mount it even lower.

Isn’t a ball shape the same as a straight shape anyway?
Just because it’s a ball mount doesn’t mean it can rotate 360 degrees in any direction.

More than you’d think, it’s “restrictive.”
Anyone who’s actually used one should have noticed this.

The mirror base is “pre-angled from the start,” so it allows for even finer adjustments.
You can achieve positioning that wouldn’t be possible with a straight mount.

Next, you can set it to any position you like around the mirror at 360 degrees.
“Back and forth,”
“up and down,”

Whether you can make those fine adjustments here or not
makes “visibility completely different.”

With these kinds of items, how much you can “work with flexibility” is important.

But you can’t know until you buy and try it
—there are a lot of products like that.
Ball mounts with mirror co-fastening are currently the strongest option.

You don’t need to match 1-inch ball brands.

I personally use
“Quad Lock” + “REC Mount” + “RAM Mount”
configuration.

It’s fun to try different combinations, but you can’t tell if it’s good or bad until you actually install it.
That’s the kind of mounting trouble we often face.
