(*’ω’*)Good morning!
This is an 8 AM blog post for you!
Already behind the curve, but to avoid being “always behind,” I’m writing this anyway.
Suzuki’s discontinued items, shortages, and price hikes are relentless.
Without parts, there’s basically no way to repair anything.
“Self-defense” means you have to stock up on your own.
When should you buy? “Now, right?”
This is tough, really tough – parts just won’t come out~
Suzuki bikes especially are in an extraordinary situation.
Let’s be grateful that Suzuki has worked hard to make these for us until now.
It’s important to develop a deeper understanding of what it means to ride and own an old motorcycle.
I want people to appreciate the manufacturers too.
Riding the same bike for a long time is a good thing.
But from the manufacturer’s perspective,
they probably think “I wish they’d buy something new…”
Inventory management, part numbers, subcontractors, storage space, labor costs, and so on
require various costs.
Even if parts sell, the volume is limited.
Both old fans and new fans are needed.
But when it comes to deciding where to put more weight…
I think there are many difficult considerations ( ;∀;)
Think about how many more years or kilometers you’ll ride.
I wouldn’t have thought about this kind of thing even a little bit 10 years ago.
This varies from person to person.
Some want to ride a lot, some want to ride lightly, some want to preserve it in running condition
– it varies.
The amount you stock up on depends on your situation.
Without parts, you can’t fix it,
and no one will help you.
If cost is no object, then help and sourcing might be possible.
Someday someone will make a cheap reproduction?
That’s only true for models and manufacturers with high volume
You can figure it out quickly by working backwards from production and sales numbers.
Making it won’t be profitable…
Of course, if the price is steep enough, it’s different ( ;∀;)
Already in a “behind, behind” state. Pretty much too late.
How long have I been writing about this kind of thing…
It’s the owner who suffers, so there’s nothing to be done.
I haven’t checked whether OEM parts are available.
I think the GSX-R750J early model could get OEM parts.
But I think it came to nearly 80,000 yen total.
I wonder how it is for the 1100…
The 1200 series has the same story. Once it’s gone, it might be the end
If someone has replaced the clutch once, I don’t think there will be a next time.
Working backwards from this, you can figure out future sales numbers.
Next won’t sell, so we won’t make it – this is the golden rule.
It can’t be sustained by love alone.
You really want to use “FCC,” don’t you?
There are overseas products too, I think, but considering shipping costs and product quality,
I still think “FCC” is the way to go.
Buying it gives you peace of mind.
If you don’t use it, “you can just sell it”
I’m sure “you won’t lose money”
Why not let your
“abundant assets”
a little bit “be stored in” your beloved bike?
