The appearance is very similar,
“subtly smaller and cute design”

I highly recommend it for those who want an authentic look.
I think it would look great on a GS1200SS too.

“Mounting pitch” “Offset” “Mounting screw diameter” “Brake pads” “Compatible disc diameter”
“Overhaul parts”
are the same as CP2969.

In other words, if you’re using CP2696,
“direct replacement is possible”
“the CP2696 caliper support can also be used”
that’s what it means.

It was actually reissued once around 2009.

I actually owned one myself.
I gave it to someone who wanted it but had no bike to put it on…

Time has passed, now it’s 2023.

It seems it’s been on sale for a bit longer than that…
Back in 2009, the price was 58,000 yen (60,900 yen with tax)
As of 2023, the price is 59,870 yen (65,857 yen with tax)

Hardly any change…
Isn’t that actually a good deal???

Was CP2696
used on superbikes back then?

From a historical perspective,
it’s easiest to look at images of 1000cc superbikes from that era.

Most of them (CP were actually CP2195, not CP2696 ) I think.
It’s hard to tell at first glance, but it’s subtly smaller and slightly lighter.
That’s a benefit, right?

But why
did it transition from CP2195 (small) to CP2696 (large) is unclear.
There must have been some reason for it.
Back then there were various go-kart versions too…

Pitch 89MM, Mounting screw diameter 10.2φ, Offset 19.1MM, Piston diameter 41.3φ×2
*Compatible disc diameter is ignored.

Now let me look at the overall picture.

The difference from CP2696 is
the fins have changed from 4 pieces/4 pieces to 3 pieces/3 pieces.

It’s so subtle you can’t really tell… maybe?

Compared to CP2696 at 900g, this is “737.5g”

It’s subtle but a bit lighter, so that’s nice!

Not a cotter pin (split pin).
Very nice ~ racing!

The included one-touch? pin is very nice!

Can you feel this compact charm? (´ω｀)

Once you see this, there’s a 1000% chance you’ll want it? After all, it’s a reissue and there aren’t many units.

Piston diameter 41.3φ×2 and it’s aluminum!

The seals are unbelievably poor in operation,
that’s for sure.

You can really feel how superior Brembo is?

Serial number is proof of authenticity

I wish Brembo would stamp serials like this too…

The finish is very uneven (´ー｀)

Whether it’s paint or something else? I’m not sure, but the unevenness is quite severe.

I don’t mind this sort of thing at all, so it’s fine for me…
But I might not recommend it for people who are overly particular.

Limited quantity! Only a select few can get their hands on it.

If it’s the same as 2969, definitely go with this one!

Overwhelmingly? cooler and less likely to overlap? (though it’s hard to tell)

Whether this will continue to be sold is honestly unclear.

Or rather, it’s a limited release.
Once it’s gone, it might be the last.

Next time… I think everyone’s probably lost the energy at our age? I think so.

and enjoy choosing sophisticated parts that don’t overlap with others. I’d be happy if you could.
