We’ve been having strange weather lately…
Sunny one moment, rainy the next, thunder rumbling…
I’m not the only one who feels like the end is approaching (*’▽’)
The problematic part arrived, so I’m going to assemble it~

I forgot to order the nipple (fuel passage)…
Huh? Delivery date undetermined? Seriously?
It’s been nothing but stories like this. Maybe I should give up on the carburettor OH… Really.

After more than 10 years, it ends up like this.
Touch it and it crumbles… It’s in a precarious state.

Relying on my own sloppy notes… I patrol.
This Mikuni is a BS34, which is used on various motorcycles.
Kawasaki/Yamaha/Suzuki and so on—the final specification was supposed to be the XJR1200 area with TPS.
That O-ring. 36Y-14147-00 It’s not particularly cheap…

O-rings are hard to measure ( ;∀;)
So I measure the machined inner diameter with calipers and lock it in.
I thread it through the inner diameter side and feel the fit—that’s the technique.

Then I measure the wire diameter and can calculate the outer diameter.
If you adapt it and problems arise, it’s at your own risk…

There’s no starter valve setting.
This one is a Z1000J-era part or so, but it’s still being supplied.
The shape is slightly different, but it’s usable.

The center seal has an expanded area with another step up—wouldn’t that apply more surface pressure?
Nice work… Z1000J?
The groove shape where the arm engages is different, but the Katana is super loose, so it’s installable.
*You need to make sure the valve closes properly while assembling.

Want to make the idle screw remote-controlled?
That’s what they said… If I carelessly order the original, it’ll be outrageous, so I call in the usual suspect.
Is it the usual TMR 779-000-0185 M5-0.5?
The spring length is short, so I’m pushing it with a 5mm spacer…

I’ll definitely replace anything I can get my hands on ( *´艸`)
Lately, repro OH parts are circulating, and honestly I wonder about them…
I tested one myself once, but… hmm…
Using genuine parts as much as possible reduces risk.

No touching the diaphragm (*’▽’)
It comes out clean… shiny and smooth, dirt all gone (‘ω’)ノ
That’s what no-touch does for you.

GSX1100S Carburettor Actual Fuel Level—Here you go!

The MJ broke off, so I’m arranging a replacement ( ;∀;)
The carburettor is 98% complete~
