I’ve already got a hand-bent titanium muffler on hand…
*Planning to install it a few years down the road?
First, I want to really get a feel for the strengths and weaknesses of the Inazuma 1200? Kind of? That’s the age I’m at now.
I’ve come to think you can’t quite dismiss it, even a little? Or maybe a lot?
First off, it’s incredibly quiet and has a gentle sound ♪
Whoosh whoosh ♪ The exhaust note is surprisingly powerful… Oh, how lovely.
A quiet residential neighborhood.
Right in the middle of Tokyo, a densely populated area. The neighbors’ eyes are definitely critical, and it’s definitely better to cause less trouble.
As you get older, a loud muffler starts to wear you down a bit ( *´艸`)
Maybe this is the age where you appreciate the refined sound of a stock muffler.
The refined low-end torque feel ( ﾟДﾟ) This is so easy to ride!
As you’d expect from a stock setup…
The torque from low revs feels really good.
Currently, I’ve got ignition advance + rev limiter cut + plasma booster installed, and it accelerates with real power.
Even with the stock cam, it’s decent, so I’m not forcing the engine to spin, but the overall feel from the low end is excellent. Completely flat and smooth—a good impression.
Actually, the Inazuma 1200 is quite intricately designed
The silencer is integrated with the tail pipe and can’t be disassembled like on the GSF1200 or Bandit 1200.
The material is all iron with chrome plating too…
But for some reason, the spots where the silencer would rub are relieved, and the tail pipe interior has punching and wool for sound dampening—they really put thought into the muffler.
It’s a subtly complicated design.
Not many people go back to stock, but you might be amazed (; ･`д･´)
I don’t think modification or customization through addition always makes things better.
Parts you add with good intentions often drag things down, and then you end up adding more to compensate for that spot. It happens a lot.
*I’ve been there myself.
Sometimes you get that wow moment riding a stock bike… sometimes.
A muffler that a manufacturer built properly really can’t be dismissed—I’ve come to think that sincerely. If you get the chance, going back to stock might be fun too… (*^-^*)
