Why is that? Is year-end and New Year’s really that special?
Isn’t the long holiday season actually longer?
It’s tough because most people are off at the same time… (´艸`) hehe
As usual, we don’t make any special announcements during the year-end and New Year’s period.
We don’t handle urgent requests, and even the fastest bookings are February or later, so honestly it doesn’t really affect us.
What’s actually difficult about year-end and New Year’s? I thought about what could be troublesome…
A while back, I’d carve out time for my own bike and steadily work on projects and builds.
What becomes a problem then is materials, parts, and tools.
For example, if you want to make a bracket or support, you can’t start without materials.
And you end up needing specialized tools for even minor machining.
If it weren’t year-end and New Year’s, it would arrive tomorrow… that’s the kind of thing you think about.
Parts are the same story. If you think “oh well, it’s just one O-ring or gasket” and push ahead anyway, nothing good comes of it.
That’s why if you’re planning something, you really need to have everything properly in place beforehand.
The point is, if even one tool, material, or part is missing, you can’t work under good conditions.
The same goes for everyday life—missing just one thing and time slips away in a flash.
If we were just robots doing the same task over and over, it’d be easy, but every job we handle is different. When you add up thinking time, sourcing time, and work time, it takes quite a lot.
Everything requires solid preparation and planning to move forward. But humans are fallible, and things often don’t go as planned. In those moments, you should stay calm and proceed steadily without panic.
So what should you do about year-end and New Year’s? Make a list of things you need to order and place those orders right away.
If there’s no rush, you can gradually start your planning.
Even parts ordered overseas are saying they’ll arrive next year…
