First of all…
Rubber parts and wire-related items that we’re always announcing might be a good choice.
For rubber, getting a full set of intake manifold gaskets, hub dampers, cowl grommets, and dampers and doing a complete reset is a smart move.
If you’re going to stick with the original fuel petcock, replacement is an option.
You’ll probably be safe for the rest of your life. Aftermarket petcocks won’t fit directly, and if you already have plenty of adaptation options, you might be okay, but the price won’t come down there either.
Exterior parts (small items)
This is very tricky, but the biggest advantage of getting original parts is that they come “pre-painted.”
With Suzuki and others, as time passes, they eventually end up being supplied with just a primer finish. In such situations, you end up bearing both the parts cost and the painting cost.
Often, availability while it lasts is precious.
Time has passed more than we realize. Even bikes we think are still new are already 10 or 20 years old.
