[Thoughts] Is a Racing Stand Hard to Use?

Sometimes people end up stepping on the racing stand or lifting it with their feet, right?
In the near future, if you use a racing stand that way, the probability of tipping your bike increases dramatically, so be careful.

First, choosing the right stand is important (゚Д゚)

I looked for racing stands on Amazon. Look, 3,380 yen?

I can’t believe it. But this approach won’t work. Even if buying this 3,380 yen item feels like a good deal, the risk of a major expense increases dramatically.

First,
○ No stand arm height adjustment
Strictly speaking, a stand only needs the tire to be floating even 1 cm.
Naturally, if you try to lift the rear higher, the angle when lifting the stand becomes steeper. This creates situations where you have to lift the stand with your foot or step on it. When you lift it that way, the stand pops up with a loud “thud!” and impact, which dramatically increases the chance that the stand will shift and come off.

If the stand arm height is right, you should be able to lift the stand with one hand.

○ Left and right connections with insertion and bolt fastening—probably wobbly, right?
I’ve never used this (too scared to),
but the left and right connections are also locked with insertion plus bolt, but since it’s pipe, loose tightening equals wobble. I’m not sure how much play the L-shaped stand has, but I think the wobble increases the more you use it. This means the stand comes off more easily.

J-TRIP Narrow Roller Stand Main Unit (8-18) Red (50–400cc) JT-1052RD Maintenance Stand & L-Receiver Die (2-coil) JT-104L2 [Set Purchase]

Choose a stand like the J-TRIP that allows free adjustment both up-down and left-right, with large rollers.
This stand isn’t perfect either, but at this price point with this quality, it’s more than enough.
When we professionals use it frequently, the adjustment holes gradually become elongated slots, so we weld the nut side to tighten it up (*’ω’*)
You can’t really tell if a stand is good or bad until you use it, but at minimum you should choose one with both vertical and horizontal adjustment.
After reading this, definitely stop lifting the stand with your foot—it’s safer that way.
