This is a relatively rare bike for Decoboco—a modern motorcycle.
Usually, the first thing that gives me a headache is not knowing how to remove the fairing.
I wonder if I’ll get used to it eventually… though I might forget before that happens.
I made sure to film how to remove the fairing this time too (unedited, so I’ll post it later).
We’ll replace the coolant. You want to swap it out every two years.
It cycles daily between room temperature and around 100 degrees. It’s better to replace it before any strange deposits or rust appear.
We reused the cap this time.
We oil all the moving parts from the outside to keep them lubricated.
The chain area is heavily soiled, so we clean it thoroughly, apply oil generously, and then adjust it.
We replaced the brake fluid with CCI Golden Cruiser DOT4.
We clean the calipers.
Lately I’ve been thinking that the brake caliper piston operation on modern bikes is absolutely fantastic.
I’m starting to think it might even be smoother than Brembo.
Cleaning the small parts too gives you peace of mind.
We charged the battery.
This charger is easy to use because you can see both the charging amperage and the charge gauge.
The air filter is one thing, but spark plugs… they’re not exactly easy to replace, right? That’s why the labor cost is high.
Back in the day, I think there used to be some kind of prop stick on the bike… or at least I think so.
Anyway, I can’t find one, so we’ll just have to make do with a wheelie stand.

That’s how it is. You need to be careful not to forget to plug them back in. Plus, the layout is so tight that serviceability is a bit of a problem.
And that’s how we successfully completed the replacement. You know, I didn’t want to leave this halfway done and pick it up tomorrow.
One more thing that’s a pain: modern spark plug caps have such excellent sealing that they just won’t come off.
It helps to apply a little silicone oil when you remove them.
