Once it warms up, things get crazy busy, so I’m hoping work moves along smoothly.
Parts aren’t arriving though.
We polished it and applied MR20 metal rubber before assembly.
The cup umbrella was almost completely closed. If it’s nice and tight, there’ll be less play and it’ll feel solid.
I’ll just swap it out for a lock washer on my own. If you check the depth, there’s no problem using it.
I’m thinking that on models where Suzuki pulls the speed sensor from the countershaft, they might be using it as a retainer or something… I wonder what’s up with that.
The rear is stock steel this time, so we’re waiting for it to arrive.
Non-anodized is actually nice. It’s come out really clean.
The inside was clean too.
The owner asked us to check the bearings, but they’re still in good shape.
We just adjusted them.
I applied gun coat to all the little bits.
It suddenly goes “psst!”
The axle runout was no problem.
The lever is in nice condition too, so that’s reassuring.
All the grease in various spots still has good reserves, so it’s in reassuring condition.
I lifted the front and opened the cap.
Bottom gets oil and dirt removal; top gets rust protection.
When you remove this OEM seal, it usually dies.
Good thing we stock them.

You can use it for all sorts of things, so having one tire lever this length is essential!
The bearings are fine with just adjustment.
Places the owner can’t reach are our job. Let’s clean out that dirt.
I oiled the throttle and checked the disk thickness.
Cleaned the top of the fuel cap and gave it a light rust-preventative wipe. We also cleaned around the cap.
During inspection and maintenance like this, it feels good to clean out the key’s gunk.
It’s good to remove all the fuses and check them.
It’s dark in the shadow, but the burn is good. Only #3 looked a bit dark, so we swapped it for a CR8EK.
We replaced the air filter too.
We adjusted the sync a little bit.
The right side wasn’t quite centered (the camera’s pointing left because of the tire), so we adjusted it by adding shims and got it sorted ◎
Now it’ll be nice and smooth!
We changed the engine oil and filter.
We also replaced the drain plug.
