This XJR has been ridden since it was brand new… That’s amazing! Since motorcycles become such a long-term companion, the attachment really deepens, doesn’t it?
The maintenance is all straightforward, so it’s just some light fluid work and inspection. Since the work is simple and quick to complete, I’m happy about it—I actually enjoy jobs that wrap up fast and get the bike back to the owner right away.
Yesterday, both the inspection and test ride were completed.

When brake fluid degrades, it develops sediment-like particles. In other words,if you don’t change it frequently, the master cylinder passages and hoses get dirty.
Any fluid passage is the same. If brake fluid is stored in poor conditions, it often turns into rust juice. Even with use, changing it every two years, or ideally every year, feels great.
This varies greatly depending on usage frequency and storage conditions, so adjust based on your specific use and storage situation.
Spark Plug Change and NT4245
A Watanabe full power kit is installed. Replacing the NT4245 along with the spark plugs gives peace of mind.
The surface of this NT4245 also gets rough and wears slightly. To make the plug and plug cap more intimate, new ones really feel good.
Having zero electrical concerns is really great for a motorcycle. Check the chain and other items to finish up.
The inspection record printing has become self-service now… Well, I suppose some people don’t need it.
I don’t need those gem clips…and we’re done!
