At a certain RPM, there’s an annoying buzzing vibration…
Oil-cooled bikes inherently have louder buzzing vibrations and noise, but it’s still bothersome. While riding, I pressed around with my hand and it seems to be coming from around the screen? and cowl?
The tank is also making some sporadic noise.

Deadening is applying damping materialand sound-absorbing materialto metal parts like car doors to reduce vibration and noise. The main purpose is to improve speaker sound qualityand reduce road noiseto create a comfortable driving environment. It suppresses door resonance to make sound clearer, and the sound-insulating effect reduces external noise.
Sound issues are extremely difficult , and they can be caused by deterioration rather than failure, echoing, or aging. For example, there are sounds from engines or brakes that aren’t failures but are still bothersome, right? Honda and others often have sound dampeners inside engines in many models. Manufacturers probably always want to make things as quiet as possible.
Straight lines look visually clean when they’re truly straight, and curves look good when they’re properly curved. Freehand has its limits, but using machinery allows for efficient cutting.

I don’t apply double-sided tape and adhesives directly
I apply masking tape or aluminum tape first, then apply double-sided tape and such. Everyone has experienced the hassle of peeling off double-sided tape adhesive. Thinking ahead about removal makes things easier.
It seems pretty interesting, so I want to try applying it to the GPZ550 and Zephyr 550 as well. I’m not sure how much heat it can withstand, so I didn’t apply it on top of the head cover.
Installing 09161-06021 on the side cowl
Oil-cooled GSX-R1100K~ This is the protruding collar made of resin used on the side cowl. Since the side cowl is aftermarket and thin, I’ll only install it on the side damper area. I need to enlarge M6 to 9.2mm.
Now I’ll make just the side vibrate.
Removing just the sides gives it a kind of rough machine look… Or maybe it’s actually modern?
I was planning to go for a test ride first thing in the morning, but unfortunately it’s raining… Once it clears up, I’ll take one more ride and we’re done! (*´ω｀*)
