The inspection is complete, so let’s get started on Deco-mainte.
The control levers benefit from occasional disassembly, cleaning, and lubrication—this prevents play from developing in both the levers and master cylinders, keeping everything smooth for a long time.
The same goes for the pedals. These are spots you really want to service by removing them rather than just oiling from the outside.
I don’t think anyone avoids using the side stand. It’s a part you touch every time you start and finish riding, so we want to keep it smooth.
There’s some light rust, but the operation is still good, so we can feel confident.
The wheel bearings don’t need urgent attention yet.
We wiped away excess grease from the speedometer gear and wheel collar—that stuff isn’t needed there.
There was some seeping from the fuel cock, but we took care of it.
The spark plugs look new.
We synchronized the carburetors.
We replaced the fluid. There was some slight concern with the front end, so the customer requested additional front maintenance, and we’re now waiting for parts.
