Let’s perform rear maintenance (+) OH.
It’s rare to see a bike rusted this badly. I was quite surprised.
Here are the parts we’re replacing. It feels good to have clean parts.
It looks cleaner when you don’t apply the puller directly. Frequent use does quite a bit of damage to the puller, so I picked up an inexpensive one before, and I was pleasantly surprised—it’s actually pretty good.
Of course, after tightening the pivot, it must operate smoothly up and down with no play side to side.
I make a point of assembling it in a way that puts as little stress as possible on the frame.
