Let’s swap out the meter. We embedded a PIVOT.
The speedometer has a slightly different shape. In the end, we ground down the bracket to make room.
It won’t fit when it’s in the case, and the double lens is a bit tricky. After much deliberation, removing the cover gets it in flush.
Working on brand new parts like this is really nerve-wracking, so we’re being extra careful.
We could have bent it into a U-shape, but considering the height, positioning, mounting, and the need for tools to fit, we went with the safe option.
It got scorched from welding, so we painted it. SUS304, 2mm thick.
We made a hole for the wiring to pass through, cleaned it up, and painted it. It’s not visible, but it feels good.
We’re pretty fond of the 040 3-piece connectors and keep them in stock.
We replaced all the small fasteners too.
It came out nice and clean.
We went back and forth on a few things, but it’s done for now.
It really takes a lot of work…
There are surprisingly a lot of odds and ends, which is a pain, but at least there’s no H4 connector to deal with.
We’ll take it for a test ride tomorrow and call it done.
