GS1000 inspection with front and rear maintenance and wheel bearing maintenance completed.
I find myself taking advantage of the “no rush” attitude every day. Front fork parts are on backorder, so today we’re only doing the rear.
The oil level was adequate and in good condition. The swingarm needle roller bearings fell apart when we removed them.
We measured the distance collar and wrote a note for the next service.
The damper goes in and is held down from above with a spacer. That’s unusual.
Let’s make sure to apply NC100 properly.
There were a lot of washers in there, so we discarded them all. I think it’s better to use just one collar.
Battery fluid was probably the culprit. We lightly polished it and applied a light rust preventative coat.
We improvised with parts from other bikes and cleaned everything up nicely.
The rest will be done Wednesday!
