
We completed the Front Maintenance SKF (+) at the end of the year, and during oil-cooled maintenance, the head cover bolt seized and broke—which meant we had to remove the head.

The oil passage O-ring is holding tight, so this head doesn’t come off easily.
I’m not fond of hammering on things, so I used my own weight, and while I was having lunch, it slipped right off with a smooth pop.

Once you get this far, it’s natural to want to do all sorts of things, but with 16 valves, the costs around the head add up fast.
Everything is times 16.

You can only see two or three, but you can feel confident.
