Plus, when you use belt sanders or other sanders, dust particles fly around and things get dirty. Just putting a simple cover on “reduces how often you need to clean” and “your tools last longer.” Getting into the habit of putting a cover on when you’re done using something is surprisingly worthwhile (*´ω｀*)
Tire cover and “tire rack cover”—be careful to tell them apart!
They have similar names like this, so be careful not to mix them up.
Here’s what the tire cover size looks like. For welding machines and such, the M size is a perfect fit. If it’s too long, you can cut it. Just buy one and try putting it on—I think you’ll find it works really well.
I haven’t used this one yet, but it might actually be surprisingly effective. Once we move, I’m thinking I might give it a try.

Just like with motorcycles, “take the cover off when you use it, and put the cover back on when you’re done.” That’s all there is to it.
When you think about it that way, keeping dust off your welding machine or machine tools is pretty easy. Your tools stay clean and usable longer, and you save a ton of time on cleaning. With just a small idea like this, you can save time and keep things clean, so give it a try!
I’m not particularly fussy. I just really hate tedious work, “so I’m always thinking about how to reduce the hassle.” That’s all I think about. When you cut down on the work and can do things cleanly, it feels good for the person doing it. With just a little expense, you can work more efficiently and that makes it fun.
