When the battery is always fully charged, the spark plugs really fire.
This Harley comes off with just one extra bolt, so it has excellent serviceability. With a big twin, there’s a lot of load on the starter motor, so keeping the battery charged regularly ensures smooth starting.
Always check when doing a Harley brake fluid exchange.
The brake fluid type to use is marked on the reservoir tank cap, so it’s a good idea to always check.
Depending on the year, some models use silicone-based fluid, so you need to be careful not to mix them. This model year uses DOT4 for both front and rear, so there’s no trouble sourcing it and it’s reassuring.
The reservoir tank is mounted in an incredibly tight spot. The fluid exchange is so difficult… Plus, with the reservoir tank down and the brake caliper up, the air bleeding structure is quite challenging. If you need to replace the brake hose, it gets pretty tedious.
I also lubricated all the areas that needed attention. We’ll do the inspection and that completes the job.
