We’re down to about a month left of operations in Tokyo. There’s definitely a sense that the number of bikes in storage has decreased, but we still have quite a few tasks left to tackle.
We’re going to keep things moving smoothly by reducing the number of bikes rather than the workload. The battery we’ve been waiting for finally arrived, so we installed it and it’s complete.
Going back in time, we’re replacing the intake manifold.
We tried to save money by reusing it, but it turned out it was sucking in secondary air after all. I thought it was pretty soft, but it ended up being too loose.
It’s a combination of aluminum and rubber, so it doesn’t tear easily. The mounting surface also has an O-ring, so it’s reassuring.
And it comes with a vacuum nipple and everything—amazing! The original band even has a stopper so it doesn’t spin around—it’s a genuine part that has everything you could ask for. Parts like this that we remove are kept by Decoboco for 1:1 reference purposes. They surprisingly come in handy sometimes.
The more years I accumulate, the more I try to minimize risk in my work.
