Autumn 3 MA? TZR250 3MA Gear Oil/Fluid/Coolant/Battery Replacement and More

It’s already autumn, isn’t it? Though it’s still incredibly hot…
Saury = Sanma = 3MA seems to be the image.

Since we have multiple bikes, we swap them out each time we finish.
The owner brings the motorcycle and I can take the next job right after, which is a really nice work pattern…
The work itself tends to go smoothly, so we can knock it out pretty quickly.

Handlebar grip is slipping

I’m not good with adhesives and wiring.
When replacing grips, cutting wires and removing adhesive is quite a hassle.

If you apply this thin 3M non-slip tape, you almost never have problems.
Of course it adds some thickness, but you won’t notice it.
The next grip replacement is also quick, so we use this on all our bikes.

Reliable Yamalube gear oil is assured quality

The price is reasonable and easy to get, so we use Yamalube for all 2-stroke gear oil.

It hadn’t gone very far, so it was in nice condition.

Let’s replace the coolant too

The radiator cap was still reusable.
There’s some kind of residue on it.

It’s not in the coolant we drained. It’s not a major issue, so let’s keep an eye on it.

Brake fluid is Golden Cruiser DOT4

This was also in really nice condition.
I replaced the large front reservoir tank with a smoked one.

Battery is a sure bet! GEL battery

I replaced it with a Pro Select gel battery.
It’s really reasonably priced and has great durability—a wonderful battery, I think.

Rear exhaust flange area looks oily—requesting inspection

Indeed, it’s quite a messy situation.

It looks like it’s leaking from around the flange.
There’s a groove that the flange should fit into, but it seems a bit shallow…

We’re currently checking it out.

It also looks like there’s a slight seep from the flange mounting area.
Let’s clean it up thoroughly and get it sealed tight.

To remove the chamber, we also have to remove the rear sub-seat rail.
While we’re at it, I changed the rear turn signal from a spade connector to a coupler.

It continues like this.
