It’s been quite a while since we’ve done any work! My apologies.
Now, here’s the story, step by step.
With a very generous heart, we’re replacing it with a brand new harness.
The replacement is done… well, it’s a replacement, so!

The danger of multi-taps—here’s where it goes “pop!”
Fuses blow or break.
I didn’t know it myself, but I used to use multi-taps back in the day.
It’s an electrical component where “as long as there’s continuity and power, it’s OK.”
I think it’s better to consider installation that allows for disconnection during future maintenance.
Once you put the fairing on, nobody sees the wiring anyway, but I think it’s better to have
no electrical trouble out on the road.”
Safety and peace of mind always come first.

Tape wrapped around once is fine too,
but if the connector is nearby, heat shrink is the safer choice and looks better.

The main key is reused.
The positive and negative are always split somewhere.
Different manufacturers use different methods,
and current models have new kinds of connections and splits that are really interesting and very instructive.

There’s no black one—it’s clear, but the same shape and waterproof.
“No operational issues, doesn’t break, reasonably robust for maintenance, won’t come loose no matter who plugs and unplugs it, and good workability”—I think that’s what peace of mind and safety look like.
There’s no absolute guarantee, but I think it’s better to be as thorough as possible ★
With the optional positive and negative layout and small accessories routed, the wiring is complete!
