Well, hello there! Today we’re going to do some rear maintenance.
Let’s take off the Pokidam. The monoshock is inconvenient to clean and has become a nest of dirt.
The condition was about what you’d expect.
Moisture has gotten in and rust has formed.
Unusually, I had a tough time removing the bearing… For the first time in a while… I thought, “Hmm, maybe it won’t come out?”
But somehow I made a one-off tool and got it out…
After cleaning everything, we did the replacement.
Apparently the new model no longer has a reservoir tank.
During assembly, we protected it with TENBA, which we often use for camera protection. It’s reusable many times and very convenient.
It’s also effective when loading a motorcycle on a car.
Progress was slower than expected.
