I can’t quite hide my surprise at the handmade feel of the finish. We cut clear files to keep the fins from getting dented, then added a protective film on top.
With an oil cooler, I think the key is standing it upright to let air flow through as much as possible. When it’s lying down, we miss out on that nice breeze.
I’m still mulling it over. I’m guessing this kit only fixes the lower side and secures the hose with a tie?
That kind of fixed mounting would put too much stress on the hose, so let’s work on the upper side and think about a bow-stop bracket instead.
Bolt mounting is a hassle too, and if we can bow easily during valve adjustment, the serviceability might be better. We could use a beta pin with a snap, or a fastener with a snap—the options keep piling up…
This is a Vr3 with different dimensions, but it’s too over-the-top and heavy, so we’re planning to scrap it. Let’s keep it simpler. Everything is on hold for now.
