We’re fabricating a muffler stand using Suzuki rib stock.
We made a collar cut at an angle and polished it.
This is a used torque rod from a GSXR series. I wonder if this material is sleeping somewhere. We’re polishing it before welding to remove the anodize.
Getting a tight fit and proper alignment makes the finish look much better.
We bent it to fit the shape with a soft touch, did the final polish, and we’re done!
It’s a bit sad that the rib stock is rough.
We broke the edges with a 4R radius. Adding radius makes it feel softer and looks nice.
A 54mm diameter tail pipe looks thin visually. Maybe I’ll make it 60.5mm diameter with a prawn bend.
