
Let’s change the final drive ratio. Sunstar didn’t have many options for some reason, so we went with XAM.

Since a slightly longer ratio was desired, we changed both sprockets from 55 to 53 teeth. Finding your own preference in areas where you can make changes, regardless of whether it’s better or worse, is part of the fun. While general reviews matter for things like tires, what matters most is what suits your own taste.
Using the pivot shaft as the reference point, the rear wheel moved back about 8 millimeters.


It looks great now. It has a slightly flat appearance, which is good.
We also chose Daytona brand shoes.

The front wasn’t too bad, but the rear drum showed quite a bit of wear.

SR original tool box mounting. It’s a very simple design. One M6 bolt and a 10-millimeter diameter boss for positioning—the polypropylene construction has a real whiff of clever repurposing about it.
We forgot to order lock washers and nuts, so it should be finished today. We’re looking for thin lock nuts, but for now we’ll go with the original ones.
