After finishing the inspection, we took a rare cruise around Route 7 and filled up with gas before heading back to the shop.
Hmm? Something doesn’t look quite right… it’s not sitting level?
Oh no… the license plate bracket is broken.

Two laps around Route 7 on a scooter. Getting a replacement would be such a hassle.
We found it—right past the peak of the overpass, no less. That’s the most dangerous spot.
We managed to retrieve it after about an hour in the cold. It’s got some light damage.

What’s the easiest and fastest way to fix it? We made one like this.

Painting it black—is that covering it up? Or just keeping it sleek?

The homemade plate is the old R one, broken in and reused.

Glad we found it! Just don’t bend it at sharp angles again.
All done!
