Let’s assemble it with a Sunstar & DID combo.
The hub looks great too, and the mood on the assembly side is excellent.
The original has stepped washers and rubber front and rear for sound dampening. We’re not using rubber, but we need to remove the washer portion or it’ll end up inside. Punch it out and use only what’s needed. A little weight reduction, maybe.
One thing leads to another and I lose track of what I’m even doing anymore.
There’s no harm in keeping things clean, so it’s all polish and paint spray.
I want to minimize the areas I’d rather not touch.
Installing a Yoshimura Progre meter. Keep it as clean, easy to read, and simple as possible.
Cut and bend and so on.
It just barely doesn’t hit here. Aiming for as much unity as possible.
The front caliper looks like it was spray-painted. We’ll do an overhaul on this too.
It’s in pretty sharp condition.
The seal groove condition looks better than it appears.
The piston has no rust on the sliding surfaces and operates fine.
Once I started stripping it, there was no end in sight, so it ended up as a polished finish.
Grooves cleaned up nicely.
Mating surfaces solid too.
Let’s clean up the nipple area as well.
