Coken black, swapped to Brembo 40mm calipers.
First, I mark the pads: right inner/right outer, left inner/left outer. That way you don’t have to write it again next time you clean them.
I do a light metal rub first—I think it helps the touch come in easier.
Pop the pads in, then use air to push them out—pull them back—push them out—pull them back—that’s the initial break-in. Then wipe everything down thoroughly.
After that, I apply a light rust-preventive oil and wipe it off. Even a little bit might help keep rust and dust from sticking.
Oil film is actually not something to overlook—when you paint or TIG weld, you degrease really hard but sometimes the film is still there and things don’t work out right, don’t they?
I go with the feeling that even a tiny bit of oil film might keep things looking clean longer.
I’m using the included parts this time, so I do a light cut—

After that, a test ride and we’re done.
