That book that once swept the nation: “Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.”
I read it when I was younger, but honestly, it didn’t really strike a chord with me back then. The content was a bit dense, and I remember thinking, “Hmm, I see,” but that was about it.
Then, years later, I suddenly thought, “Hey, I’d like to read that book again…” I wonder why.
Fortunately, it’s now available in paperback—lucky me! It’s also been digitized. But I still think reading the physical book has more charm to it.

Reading this book, you can grasp the scenes and sensations, and find things you can relate to—which is also part of the mystery of motorcycles. Perhaps such sensations transcend nationality and age.
Spiritually, intuitively, and instinctively, there are things that are truly essential to riding a motorcycle.
This is one book that makes you feel all that. Please do read the physical edition cover to cover.
If you’re fluent in English, try the English version. I can’t read it myself, but I’m sure it would leave a different impression.
You might even want to collect both volumes. Perfect for a long evening.
