The good relationship between oil pressure and oil temperature!
When cruising on the highway at 5th gear, 4000 RPM, the oil temperature is over 80 degrees Celsius and shows about 5–6 kgf/cm² of oil pressure.
True to its name as an oil-cooled engine, when you maintain adequate oil pressure and circulate the oil properly, the oil temperature stabilizes.
But there are limits to what you can do (´ρ`).
There’s only one option left: stop idling.
You want to keep the engine running and lower the oil temperature at the same time—that’s not realistic.
Circulate cooled oil through the engine at proper pressure using the wind from riding.
That’s what matters most.
No wind from riding, low oil pressure—that’s tough (´ρ`).
But turning the engine on and off is scary ( ﾟДﾟ).
You definitely need to get used to it.
You have to watch your mirrors and pay attention to traffic signals.
The health of your battery and starter are important too.
The cam and rocker arm area will definitely take damage.
The engine stalled! The digital temperature gauge went HIGH.
When the oil temperature rises that high, the engine oil reaches its limit.
Degradation will accelerate rapidly.
Installing an oil temperature gauge makes you worry about it, but by installing one you can learn how oil temperature changes under different conditions.
Before the engine starts knocking, cool it down or ride a route where it won’t get hot—that matters too.
It’s a bit of a hassle, but you have to learn to manage it as you go.
