Must-see for those troubled by loud exhaust!
The sound does get somewhat—actually quite a bit—quieter, but there’s a high possibility the engine won’t rev out at the top.
For those who ride low and rumbling, or those having trouble with vehicle inspections, I think this will be genuinely helpful.
So the other day I cut off the tail section and finally got this silencer baffle to fit.
I’m thinking I’ll just swap it in quickly…

I completely forgot about the existence of the muffler joint gasket.
When I checked the OEM part, it was somewhat pricey, so I did a little searching and
found a generic-type product being sold by Kitaco.
They release joint gaskets for various vehicle types, so
if you need one urgently, I think it’s worth checking out.
When you remove and reinstall this gasket, it pretty much falls apart, so ordering a replacement is essential.

From the sound of the exhaust, it’s gotten quite a bit quieter.
Around 3500 RPM, it went from 110 to about 104 dB.
I’ve written it down somewhat harshly, so the actual reading is probably a bit lower.
The reason is
I was watching the tachometer while filming video and adjusting focus—it was a pretty tough situation.
The slightly crisp sound that’s unique to the V4 at idle has become much smoother.
Since the muffler end is restricting flow significantly, naturally the engine won’t rev out at the top.
If you want to seriously reduce noise, you’ll probably need a certain amount of capacity.

Conversely, I’m amazed they can make a profit at this price point.
It accommodates two sizes: 50.8 and 60.5.
The precision isn’t dramatically good, so I’d say just try it out and see—that kind of approach works best.
It’s held in place only by the flange with a handle, so there’s a possibility it might vibrate a bit.
In that case, wrapping some wool around it or something similar might help avoid the issue.
So with it being somewhat quieter, we’re done!
