But anyway,
I believe the methods and procedures for using OEM parts are the same across all motorcycles.
Lately, this GPZ 550 has surprisingly high compatibility,
and I’ve found that researching and sourcing parts rarely leads to failure.
This time, a discontinued speedometer cable
turned out to be a perfect match with the Zephyr X part.
*By the way, the Zephyr 1100 and others use the same part number, so the compatibility is pretty amazing.

My Zephyr 550 uses a GPZ 550 meter as a replacement.
At that time, the meter cable length was insufficient, so
I researched and ended up using this Zephyr X speedometer cable as a replacement.
Kawasaki is interesting—OEM parts are still being supplied while reproduction parts also exist.
The reproduction parts are slightly more affordable and generic in nature.
Kawasaki is amazing because you’re fine with either OEM or reproduction parts.
I won’t bother listing the length *L=915mm
What’s helpful is that basically the upper and lower mounting dimensions are the same, with only the length differing.
It’s very simple and has great compatibility, which is really appreciated as a user.
It’s questionable whether what was originally installed was even the genuine part…
But since the gear teeth are visible from the meter case and it can be rotated, replacement is possible from the outside.
The length is a perfect fit, and the layout makes you think this must be the genuine part.
I even thought they should have changed the part number and listed it.
