Yoshimura oil temperature gauge display malfunction: “—°C”

Last summer it got so hot that the display showed “—°C” once, and it hasn’t displayed anything since.
Recent Yoshimura oil temperature gauges are built very simply, so they rarely break.
It’s usually a sensor failure, so you should suspect that first.

The GPZ750(F) is Type E!

And just like that, it’s displaying properly and the problem is solved.
This Progress 1 can also read oil temperature and voltage, which is really helpful.

Engine oil is Shell Advance Ultra 4T

I was relieved to see it wasn’t surprisingly dirty.

Kawasaki filter covers come in two types, so watch out.
There’s one that sits on top and one that mounts on the bottom.

It’s easy to tell by looking at the shape of the filter cover.
If it’s flat, it goes on the bottom.
If it’s recessed, it goes on top.

Brake fluid is CCI Golden Cruiser—feels great

The 2696 requires removing the caliper to change the fluid, so it’s a bit of a hassle.

Since it hasn’t gone very far, the fluid was in pretty good condition.

Since the owner was concerned about the brake hose outer sheath,
I refreshed it with a mesh tube that wraps around the outside.

After that, we performed the inspection and we’re done.
