THE Oil-Cooled! GSX-R1100J Non-Running Revival? Let’s Make Good Use of the 190,000 Yen Crowdfunding Plan!

Good morning (*´ω`*) The gloomy weather just keeps going on and on.
Where did autumn’s travel season go…?

It feels like Japan’s four seasons are gradually disappearing year after year.

When the weather is bad, work actually progresses quite well, so I’m grateful.
The year is flying by, so I’m going to push forward full steam!

The intake manifold band fit perfectly with the 60mm Monotaro hose clamp

With Norma it’s 50-70mm, so you need to cut 10mm off.
If the hose band end sticks out, it looks a bit shabby.

A snug fit is better—it prevents injury and looks cleaner.
Usage range outer diameter 40-60mm 1 piece MH40-60

If you cut one sheet of paper wipes into quarters with scissors, you can make a lid like this.

TMR member supply shortage with 4-month lead time

VM14/147 O-ring and nozzle guide have a 4-month lead time….
That means February next year.
Now I’m in a bind….
I checked everywhere but no one has them in stock, so I have no choice but to adapt existing products.
If you know the sealing clearance of the O-ring, you can adapt it.

TMR float level (oil level) is 12mm ±1mm
I pulled out this manual for the first time in a while.
The float level had been changed, so I reset it to standard.

Adjust the synchronization with just the carburetor.
Being able to adjust forced open/close on the unit alone is really convenient.

You can work comfortably without worrying about oil temperature

Proper preparation before starting

First, change the engine oil and filter to get it in fresh condition.

Brand new battery fully charged! Using reliable Pro Select battery again this time.
For the GSX-R1100J it’s GL-PB14L-A2

The spark plug condition looks questionable too, so I’ll replace it with a new JR8B.
Then with the plug out, I’ll do some good dry cranking
to circulate the engine oil thoroughly.

Since I’m reusing most parts and only replacing the minimum O-rings,
I honestly didn’t have high expectations, but it’s running better than I thought. I’m somewhat relieved (*´ω`*)

Adding a throttle holder stopper

This is a pretty old design Yoshimura throttle holder.
This product doesn’t have a stopper, so I’ll add one with custom machining.

This way it looks simple without a lock nut.

Without a stopper,
“Adjusting throttle play by balancing the accelerator wire OPEN/CLOSE”
becomes very difficult to adjust and lacks that satisfying click when releasing the throttle.

In short, with a stopper, “You can adjust play on the OPEN side only”
The CLOSE side is just a safety backup, which makes it easier to understand.

The reason lock nuts are often attached to stopper bolts is
“To adjust according to the throttle sleeve winding diameter”
If the winding diameter is fixed,
matching the length and using ultra-low-head bolts looks sleek

For future reference, it’s good to check the winding diameter too.
Currently it’s 32φ.

Anyway, the engine started, so I’m relieved (*´ω`*)
