More isn’t always better when it comes to applying grease. Excess grease just accumulates somewhere. If you’re going to apply it, I’d really appreciate it if you’d clean first.
Based on how dirty it is, I’d say the previous owner didn’t care for it much. I’ve cleaned it up.

That’s so Yamaha—a subtle but thoughtful part. It prevents shaft contamination and helps reduce rust. Even with the sprocket cover closed, there’s still some play side to side, so it’s just sitting there.
I think this is a good part that could be applied to various other models.
The axle shaft condition looks good too.

This time we downsized to 520. The pivot axle length is perfectly matched on both sides.
