A soldering station powered by Makita batteries is truly a convenient tool. I can’t imagine going back to those 100V outlet-dependent models anymore. Most importantly, there are no location restrictions, which frees you from so much stress.

The ultimate 982-VI 2 has an extremely simple appearance
The switches are minimal and the design is very simple. The overseas soldering iron I bought years ago was made with a 3D printer and looked disappointing. This one is a proper “product.” In other words… it doesn’t break easily if you drop it.
Note that the iron’s cord cannot be removed. *I wish it could be detached, but the iron’s connection point tends to break anyway, so this design makes sense.
Amazed by the lightning-fast temperature rise!
The temperature rises so quickly you’d wonder if it’s even working. The faster the better.
Old 100V soldering irons were incredibly slow. The slowness made you not want to turn them on and off, which was a safety hazard.
Temperature adjustment is possible both on the handle and the main unit. Having it on the handle is incredibly convenient.
From the MENU you can adjust “Celsius/Fahrenheit” and “Standby Timer.” The lack of unnecessary features and settings makes it very user-friendly.
The auto-sleep function enables safer and more comfortable wiring work.
Super convenient—just insert it and it automatically enters standby mode. You no longer need to turn the power on and off repeatedly. This is seriously convenient….
Compact yet packed with high-utility features
Changing the iron tip during work is also very convenient. As shown in the image, you can hook and pull it out. In my case, I don’t change tips that often, so it’s not a feature I really need.
You can clean the iron tip. This part is designed like a can lid and disassembles easily. Being able to keep the tip clean during work is truly convenient.
982-VI 2 Cordless Soldering Station for Makita Batteries
Tools have evolved so much in recent years and prices are so reasonable—it’s truly amazing. Version 1 broke down, so I rushed to buy Version 2, and then bought Version 3 (this one) which I’d been curious about.
