As expected! The aftermarket OZ wheel air valve is the heaviest component. When replacing tires on OEM wheels, “identify the heaviest point on the wheel itself” and align the tire’s light spot there to theoretically cancel them out. *This method relies on trusting the tire’s light spot marking.
A fresh rim guard on the tire changer makes the swap go smoothly (*´ω｀*) If you skimp on it, it just slips and slips and barely makes progress.
I thought we had some rear brake discs in stock?
I could have sworn there were 2 or 3 left… But I can’t find them no matter how hard I look.
After searching for about 2 hours, I finally gave up and figured “we must have used them.” I’d cry if I found them after placing an order, so I’ll wrap up for the morning and try again tomorrow.
The rear brake gets a lot of use—it’s pretty scorched. The mounting bolts got so hot the threadlocker completely burned off.
Wet blasting the caliper support
With the mindset of Italian craftsmanship, I finished it up cleanly and smoothly.
For now, we’ve assembled everything and are waiting for the brake disc to arrive. To be continued.
Rear Suspension Refresh for SUZUKI INAZUMA 1200 (GSX1200). Work Performed:
Tire Replacement: Installed the latest Bridgestone BATTLAX T33 sport touring tire.
Brake Disc: Replaced the worn rear brake disc with a SUNSTAR custom rotor. Result: The combination of the new tire and brake disc has significantly improved both handling and braking feel. A perfect refresh for long-distance touring.
