The shim has arrived, so let’s check the valve timing.
It’s tight and hard to press with the dial.
This time we’ll check first without enlarging the slot. It’s a hassle because we can’t really machine the cam sprocket slot with a file or rotary tool. We’ll only widen it when necessary.
It was almost at the Yoshimura specified value, so this is fine as is.
Now let’s move on to self-point maintenance. First we’ll clean the chain, lubricate it, and adjust it.
The block is dirty… I’ve been noticing that lately.
I think if the bike gets cleaner along with maintenance, you can take better care of it.
This is something we can do because we have the equipment.
The caliper was clean too. After washing, let’s properly lubricate the pistons and apply rust-preventive oil to the body, then wipe it down.
It’d be nice if the pad springs and such were clean too. (I polished them.)
We replaced the fluid.
Let’s clean the disc holes once in a while too.
