Modern aftermarket parts really do fit properly.
With 20th-century aftermarket parts, not fitting properly was pretty much the norm. You’d have to force things, deal with slotted holes, or have something rubbing somewhere.

After that, we tightened the chain and we’re done. Now we’re waiting for the joint.
