From the stem shaft lower side to the fork top surface was pretty much spot on.

Stainless steel bolts are included, but I’ll swap them for electroless nickel-plated steel.

The original OEM chain from the factory is at the end of its life.

We’ll clean all the parts and prepare to welcome the new chain.
Cleaning up the chain slider too feels really nice.

We don’t use much brake cleaner; wiping is the main approach.

The sprockets are polished clean too. The finish quality shows in the details.

This time I went with standard steel for the rear.

I’ve also stocked black chrome.

It’s good to check the inner and outer widths and match them accordingly.

I always go with D.I.D for chains. It rolls smoothly the moment you install it.

The muffler position is asymmetrical left to right, so I adjusted the installation to align it. The left side needs to stick out an extra 40mm, so I made a spacer. I also polished the small parts while I was at it.

The Bandit 1200 puts out surprisingly good light output. Tomorrow we head to inspection and we’re done.
