Let’s flare the pipe and create the fitting. Almost there.
No matter how much I tension it with a spring, this clearance is going to be tight. I don’t want to scratch the swingarm with this kind of interchangeable setup either…
So I made a bracket like this to hang and fix the tailpipe in place.
The lumpy welds are depressing…but anyway, it’s stuck together. Of course I welded a nut on the back side too.
A nut on the back where my hand can’t reach.
For example, if I think about the lifetime hours spent installing that nut thinking “ugh, what a pain” times the number of times, versus the one time I think “ugh, what a pain” welding it on the back times one—I figure that one moment makes the rest of my life easier.
