When installing a Watanabe SP2 coil and laying out the plug cord, don’t you sometimes struggle unexpectedly? The Watanabe original has a slightly long straight section, so sometimes I bend it a bit to angle it.
When someone says they want to use NGK power cables, I’m a bit troubled… Ignition coil connection and layout are really important. I think this is what they mean by the crux of the matter.

The Watanabe original plug cord coil terminal and boot set is slightly long overall. When the frame, main harness, and parts are close by, I get a bit worried that it might come loose.
When the layout is tight, I sometimes bend the terminal a bit to use it. The terminal part can be bent, but the straight part of the boot is also quite long, and the plug cord layout flexibility can be somewhat difficult at times.

PAMS’s boot is extremely soft and very easy to insert. You can feel the plug cord terminal firmly seated in the coil, so the peace of mind is completely different.
Also, there are ribs on the inside that act as a pull-out stopper, which is a nice touch.

This boot length makes quite a difference. The longer the straight section, the more troublesome the layout becomes.
And since there’s a higher chance of it contacting something, a shorter overall length is more efficient.

You can see this much difference in length when inserted. This small difference gives you more layout room. The terminal is also pre-crimped, so you don’t need to buy a crimping tool. You won’t have crimping failures, so work efficiency really goes up.

I used to love NGK power cables, but I actually had a lot of layout troubles.
Even on oil-cooled GSX-R models, you can see from the image that they struggle with layout using Watanabe’s original terminals and boots. The shorter the straight section, the better the workability and safety. I think.
If you’re unsure about plug cords, I think it’s good to hold one and try it out.
