The annoying part of moving is “putting things in boxes and taking them out of boxes.”
This act is fundamentally wasteful and tedious.
If you “put things in boxes and manage them”from the start, you just move them as they are.
I know this, but it’s hard to actually do.

However, as you live, things keep accumulating.
Even you might not be managing everything yourself.
If you bite the bullet, buy some boxes, and gradually organize and tidy up, it becomes simple and time-saving.

Gordon Miller stacking cart is sturdy and excellent

I’ve been using it to store motorcycle parts for quite a long time, and it’s very sturdy.
The material is polypropylene,so it’s strong against weight and has good flexibility—truly excellent.

It also has decent chemical and solvent resistance, which is wonderful.
I basically use polypropylene for storage cases.

In my case, I’ve been using them for so long that I have older models mixed in.
What’s different?
The lid shape has been updated so it doesn’t slip when stacked.

It’s a bit hard to see in the image, but the box on the lower right is the old model.
Basically all lids are compatible, so replacement is possible.
However, Gordon Miller doesn’t offer lids separately, which is a bit tough.
*Other brands do offer lids only.

From my experience, 30 L “600×240×390” is the standard.

The most versatile is GORDON MILLER Car-use Low-type 30 L Stacking Trunk Cargo.
You can never have too many of this size.
We use this size at home too.

And surprisingly useful is GORDON MILLER Car-use 70 L Stacking Trunk Cargo.
This size is perfect for exhaust pipes and silencers.
You can also fit tailpipes alone, so it’s quite versatile.

Just be careful:
putting heavy items in a large box makes it too heavy to move.So watch out.

Next, the quietly useful one is GORDON MILLER Car-use 30 L Stacking Trunk Cargo.
This is perfect for storing A4-size items.
I basically “keep past invoices and receipts” and such.

The most in-between one for me is GORDON MILLER Car-use 50 L Stacking Trunk Cargo.

If you’re going to buy this, just get the 70 L and cover everything.
It depends on how you use it, but give it a try! (*´ω｀*)

For now, try buying the standard low-type 30 L and see how it goes.

Matching boxes creates a unified look.

When you match the cases, there’s a unified look and it just looks cool, right?
Prices keep going up, so grab them when the timing is right.

They’re incredibly durable, so they might be almost lifetime products.
Investing in boxes and organizing properly means
“you find things quickly,” “you develop a habit of keeping things tidy,” and “moving and relocating becomes easy.”
Honestly, there’s nothing but good things about it. *Though it does cost money…

Basically, I’m “don’t put things on the floor” type.

This thing is super convenient! The fact that you can connect them is really great.
The body is very lightweight, yet “load capacity of 80 kg.”
And it’s the reliable “polypropylene”so you can use it for years to come.

See how the dolly fits under the box?
By putting the box on the dolly, you can pull it toward you and use the box.
Plus, the area under the box is easier to clean and has better airflow—it’s all good.

Basically,
don’t put things you move or use directly on the ground—it makes a huge difference.

Use a P-touch to “check weight and contents.”

This is what I worked on today.
Until now, I used P-touch to “label the contents,” but “the weight was unknown until I picked it up.”

Since these are motorcycle parts, sometimes they’re surprisingly heavy.
I’ve been meaning to do this for a while: “color-code by weight.”This makes things much more convenient.

Basically, “red = heavy,” “blue = fairings and light parts,” “yellow = paper items.”
This makes loading during a move much easier.
And when lowering things from a high place after organizing, accidents decrease and everything becomes more reliable.

I keep saying it, but buying just one P-touch really enriches your life.
I use the commercial-grade 36 mm model, but I don’t think you need to go that far.

When you label and store things this way, you find them instantly—it’s a real time-saver.

Keep sturdy cardboard boxes.

Cardboard is surprisingly expensive.
If you buy brand-name boxes, they cost quite a bit.

Cardboard from e-commerce sites isn’t worth keeping, but
cardboard from fairly high-end products can be reused quite a bit.
I think it’s perfect for storing fairings and other parts if you fold it up and keep it.

A long-held dream: “Open and close cardboard freely.”

This is a game-changing item I found recently: “Cardboard lock”5-pack

I was so impressed I bought 5 sets at once.
This is truly amazing.
Until now, I’d been using packing tape to secure things and just getting by.

really increases convenience for storage cardboard.

How to use it is simple: “Slide and insert.”

You just slide and insert to secure it this way.
If the box isn’t very sturdy, using two makes it even more secure.

You lift the inner paper and lock it—that’s the idea.
It’s very simple, right? If you want to keep cardboard nice, definitely grab some.

That’s how I introduced organization items this time.
These are items that represent years of accumulated knowledge.
