THE!SRX600 Inspection Warm Kickstart Difficulty Wataniko Coil Installation Pickup/Stator Coil Replacement Inspection Maintenance

It’s incredibly hot, isn’t it… it’s no joke.
Even with air conditioning, it’s this hot I wonder if shops without air conditioning are okay?
It feels like the world is about to enter the black zone soon.

The work is almost finished, so all that’s left is maintenance and we’re done.

According to the schedule, I got the inspection in the morning

I’ve gotten quite used to the round trips to the Sodegaura Land Transport Bureau and loading motorcycles on the Town Ace Van (KR42V).
The interior is surprisingly spacious and the cargo area is low, making loading and unloading easy and convenient.

If you’re scared of loading and unloading motorcycles, I think it’s better to start with a light truck.
Once you get used to trucks, the height of a van feels like ground level.

The Sodegaura inspection facility was much less crowded than I expected today.
The route for the round trip has become somewhat established, and it seems the best approach is to use the Kensodo Expressway for just a small section.
With this method, it’s about an hour one way from the Sodegaura Land Transport Bureau to the shop.

Let me do some quick maintenance.

The key is to check the very basics normally and carefully.

First, I clean the tire surface with a dry cloth.
Then I check the entire tire surface for any foreign objects, nails, or screws stuck in it.

It’s very basic stuff, but it doesn’t take much time, so please check it occasionally.
*Getting a flat tire out somewhere would be ridiculous.

I check the runout of the tire and wheel.
It’s not usually a problem area, but
for example, if you take it for a test ride and notice “something feels off with the vibration,” rather than checking then,
it’s important to understand the condition beforehand.

I check the wheel rim width/tire size brand/manufacturing date.
When you want to change tires next time, the conversation will go smoothly.

Writing down all current settings will help in the future

For brake discs and such, knowing what you’re currently using,
the outer diameter, and the thickness in mm will make things easier in the future.

You should also know the front and rear finals.
It’s good to know which manufacturer’s sprockets you’re using, what the chain size is, and how many links it has.

Checking the thickness of the brake pads on the inside and outside makes it easier to notice changes.
Of course, you also need to record what pads you’re using.

It’s good to check bearing sizes when you remove the wheels.
If you know the size here, you can order parts in advance.
With these little things adding up,
both the owner and the technician develop a deeper understanding, and parts ordering becomes more efficient.

If I wrote everything down seriously, it would get incredibly long, so I’ll keep it brief

The rear hub damper had some play, so I reduced it with a POM plate.
This allows for smoother throttle on/off response and faster upshifts.

The contact area of the caliper support side ball joint had become indented, so I added a washer.

I cleaned the front and rear calipers.
They were in good condition.

I adjusted the chain adjusters properly on both sides.

I changed some bolts to more appropriate ones.

Sometimes longer bolts are better, and sometimes shorter ones are needed.
If you choose wisely based on the seating area and the shape of the mating surface, it will look sharp.

I degreased the brake discs front and rear.
It’s quite an interesting brake disc.

The size of the holes and the chamfering are also interesting.
The weight reduction aspect might be more important than the cleaning effect.

And I replaced the front and rear brake fluid.

It will definitely start on the first kick or second kick

It got to be evening, but I took it for a test ride about 30 kilometers around the area.

The SRX 600 is quite an interesting bike.
Above all, its light weight is a huge asset.
The kickstart is a bit of a hassle, but it starts in at worst two kicks, so it’s not too bad.
The fact that you can’t turn off the engine at traffic lights is a bit tough, but
currently, it’s so rural that I hardly ever hit traffic lights

This seat bag is incredibly convenient

Honestly, it works with pretty much any bike.
Plus, it’s so easy to attach and detach that you can easily remove it when you want to pop into a convenience store.

Recently, I always load it during test rides.
If something goes wrong out there, I don’t think a tow truck will come right away.
So I carry basic tools and such that I can use to handle things on the spot.

That’s how I came back before it got completely dark.

I can take my time and really enjoy the test ride in this environment.
If I’d had this kind of environment from way back, I probably would have ridden motorcycles a lot more. That’s what I think wistfully.
After all, it’s like a touring ride right from the shop.

That’s how all the work is complete! All that’s left is to create the invoice and we’re done.
